Responsible Retail Of Fireworks
ALL-IN-ONE ENFORCE 'RESPONSIBLE RETAILING' FOR FIREWORKS

Having sold fireworks for 20 years All-In-One Garden Centre is without doubt the one of the most experienced retailers for fireworks advice…not only that, they stock an extensive range and is the most responsible retailer within Manchester.

We demand proof of age to ensure we never sell fireworks to anyone who appears under the age of 18 years, in fact, we withdrew nuisance fireworks from sale before the government ban came into effect. We also stock low noise fireworks that still retain fantastic visual displays.

All of our fireworks conform to BS 7114 safety standard and the new legislation decibel noise levels. We are also part of the Good Guy Scheme which has been a pioneering scheme by Trading Standards and all of the local councils across Greater Manchester which retailers sign up to stating that they will act responsibly in the weeks before and after bonfire night.

We also have an annual inspection by the Fire Brigade to ensure we meet their guidelines on storing fireworks safely.

Every year our staff and their families attend a fireworks demonstration evening where the full range is viewed, timed and scored for how long they last, the number of shots emitted and the type of display given off. The score results are available to view in store, which makes choosing fireworks so much easier for our customers.

Rod is puzzled by the action
POLICE CALLED TO REMOVE B&Q STAFF FROM TRESPASSING AT ALL-IN-ONE
B&Q staff were asked to move by Middleton Police on Easter Sunday afternoon from the entrance to the All-In-One Garden Centre on Rochdale Road , Middleton, Manchester for trespassing.
Rod Slater, Managing Director was passing All-In-One Garden Centre at approx 1pm on Easter Sunday 8th April 2007 when he noticed two B&Q uniformed staff standing behind a large sign they had attached to the locked gates handing out leaflets offering a discount at a nearby B&Q store for the Bank Holiday Monday.
Police had to be called in to deal with the B&Q staff as they refused to leave the entrance area and attempted to continue with their campaign by ordering more leaflets from Graham Robinson, one of the managers at a local B&Q store.
Rod commented “I am very surprised that a multi million pound corporate business like B&Q would need to use such appalling tactics to attract customers to their stores especially on a day where Trading Laws do not permit stores to open.”

Like all other retailers, All-In-One Garden Centre shares its frustrations with our customers regarding trading on Easter Sunday, however the law is the law and we have to respect it.”

All-In-One's customers are helping to raise money for Rochdale Hospice.

ROCHDALE OBSERVOR ARTICLE ON THESPRINGHILL HOSPICE WISH TREE 8/12/07

A Christmas Wish Tree is offering the chance to support Springhill Hospice and express your hopes and wishes for the festive season.
All-In-One Garden Centre reckons that around £200 has been raised for the hospice already, just one week after the tree went up.
Marketing manager Jill Somerville said: "People are invited to write out their messages and hang them on the tree, then make a donation to the hospice.  We did a similar thing last year and it was well supported".
A list of toys and treats are on the wish lists of children visiting the centre and if some of them come true, one or two will be waking up to a motor-bike on Christmas morning.  Heelies - trainers with wheels are proving popular, along with various toys.
One youngster is wishing that 'mum and dad get back together,' while another wants his 'nan to get better.'  One little lad wants to become 'the best footballer in the world,' while another wants to wake up on Christmas morning to a pet monkey.
There are also requests for health and happiness and for peace in the world.  Ms Somerville added: "We think it's a nice touch for Christmas and at the same time it's raising money for a good cause".

Here's wishing...Rod Slater of All-In-One Garden Centre, looks at some of the wish cards.
