5 WAYS TO REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

PLANTING TREES & SHRUBS

into oxygen. Generally the bigger the plant the
more Co2 it absorbs.
We like to call them carbon eaters. Planting plants and trees, results in you providing your own gas guzzlers, the more you can plant the more you will be reducing your carbon footprint.
Oh and they are also nice to look at too.

USE OUR RECYCLING FACILITY

All-In-One has been chosen by the local council as a recycling centre. Recycle bins are situated on our upper car park and are available for use during opening hours.
We have four recycle bins for you to dispose of your unwanted bottles, cans, paper, magazines, newspapers, clothing and now used plant pots and seed trays:-
Large green bin - paper
Green bin - green glass
White bin - clear glass
Blue bin - aluminium cans
In-store - used seed trays and plant pots
Christmas Tree recycle area (seasonal)

BUY HOUSEPLANTS AS A GIFT RATHER THAN FRESH FLOWERS

Houseplants filter pollutants from the air making it
cleaner to breathe, they also last longer and generally cost less! We can also gift wrap houseplants.

USE A WATER BUTT

Try collecting rain water from your house's drain pipes. Store it in a water butt and use it to water your garden during dry spells – this could also help you save money off your water bill.

BIODEGRADABLE CARRIER BAGS

All-In-One uses carrier bags manufactured to the highest envoronmentally friendly standards. Our plastic bags now have added chalk which reduces the amount of polythene needed plus a biodegradable additive to give full break down in 18 months.
PLEASE help us reduce the amount of plastic bags we give out by using the spare trays and boxes at the till points rather than taking plastic bags or use your plastic bag again and again. Watch out for our new reusable boot liners and “Plant for Life” bags…coming soon.

All-In-One Garden Centre has received the 'Green City Town & Country Community Award' in recognition of its commitment to promoting the real value of plants and green spaces in your local environment.

All-In-one's Water Storage Tank saves rainwater collected from the rooves of our shop buildings - this water is then used to water our plant stock.

We have two water tanks and in total, we recycle and store 100,000 litres of water on site.

ALL-IN-ONE WATER SAVING SYSTEM

All-In-One has made a substantial investment in an environmentally friendly rainwater recycling system, which collects and saves rainwater that is then used to water the plants in our nursery.

Our storage tank (seen left) can hold 45,000 litres of rainwater and is situated under the block paving at the end of the covered area. This tank collects all the rainwater from the rooves of the shop buildings and when this tank is full, the water is then pumped up to our secondary storage tank (holding approximately 55,000 litres) to water our plant stock.

In total, we recycle and store 100,000 litres of water on site.

This is a demonstration of the commitment we have towards the environment and further projects are planned for the future!
